Music students get live residency

LIPA Sixth Form College Music students have been given the chance to showcase their talents - and earn some money - after they were selected for a month-long residency at a Liverpool boutique hotel.

International chain ALOFT Hotels is known for encouraging emerging artists through performances at its venues across the world. Brian Campbell is lecturer in Music at LIPA Sixth Form College -  he says it’s a great opportunity. “To get paid work experience and exposure can be really difficult for young musicians.

“The students are really excited to be given the chance of playing to a new audience, and will really do the college proud”.

The North John Street hotel selected four second year students to perform after Steven Fletcher, from 20ten Entertainment, saw them at a LIPA Sixth Form College showcase. “I’m delighted to be able to provide them with this opportunity to perform and showcase their talents to residents and guests alike.”
