Staff

 Our teaching staff are all industry experienced. They understand, and have links to, the sector you aspire to work in. They can help you reach the standards expected and introduce you to the behaviour and discipline required. 

Among our tutors: 

Our Acting department consists of performers, writers, theatre makers and directors who have worked in theatre, television, community drama and audio, in Liverpool and across the country. 

Our Dance team are all specialised teachers in the styles and all have professional experience ranging from performing in contemporary dance companies, to cabaret, cruise ships and the West End. Our staff are still active teaching, choreographing and performing in the dance industry. 

Our Design for Performance team consists of LIPA (HE) alumni who are experienced industry professionals. They have worked in a variety of professional settings, including theatre, live events, arts festivals in education, exhibitions and galleries such as Tate Liverpool. The team are all experienced teachers and continue to work freelance in the North West. 

Our Music team consists of performers, writers and sound technicians who work regularly across a wide range of musical genres, and includes a GRAMMY-nominated musician.

Our Musical Theatre team are all specialist teachers who have a wealth of professional experience in their taught discipline, with most staff having worked in the West End. The team all actively still work in industry roles such as director, choreographer and vocal coaches. 

Our Technical Theatre team consists of LIPA (HE) alumni who are experienced industry professionals. They have worked in a variety of professional settings, including, theatre, live events and cruise ships. The team are all experienced teachers and continue to work Freelance in the North West. 

Jenny Rees

Teacher of Dance

A graduate of Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Jenny has undertaken further training at The Limon School and Merce Cunningham Studios in New York. More recently, she has achieved an MA with Distinction from Rambert School, where she developed her choreographic practice on the Research for Professional Practitioners course. Jenny has worked professionally as a performer both nationally and internationally, with projects taking her across Europe to countries such as Italy, The Netherlands and Estonia. She is a founder member of Liverpool-based dance company, Taciturn and has choreographed and performed with the company since 2006, including shows for The Edinburgh Fringe Festival at Dance Base and Resolutions at London Contemporary Dance School. Jenny currently works part-time as a dance teacher at LIPA Sixth Form College and has a wealth of teaching experience in FE, HE, and school settings, alongside teaching weekly professional and advanced level open classes. She has worked as a choreographer for both professionals and students, and her pieces have been shown in a variety of platforms, including U.Dance and Can You Dance? Super Convention. Jenny has also worked as a freelance movement director for both theatre and film.
