Ofsted last visited LIPA Sixth Form College in April 2026, and carried out a three-day full inspection under the new inspection framework. Here are some of the 'highlights' from our Ofsted report:
- Students quickly feel they belong. They thrive at college
- Students develop comprehensive and extensive new knowledge and skills in their chosen discipline
- Teachers are experts in their specialist pathways and are highly qualified
- Students develop their creativity, technical skills, knowledge and academic ability through a well-thought-out curriculum that is closely aligned to the needs of the performing arts industry
- Every project is subject to industry-standard expectations and work environments
- Teachers are ambitious for their students
- Students are motivated to meet the high expectations of their teachers
- Students are held to the same high expectations and standards as they would be in a professional context
- A welcoming, inclusive atmosphere
- Students enjoy positive working relationships
- Leaders and staff make learning accessible
- Students, regardless of starting points or barriers to learning, achieve extremely well
- Many students are working at a professional level. They achieve excellent outcomes and progress to the destination of their choice
- Students go to prestigious conservatoires, to specialist performing arts institutions, to university and into employment
