Steve Parry stood at the front of a packed out classroom talking through a task

We were lucky enough to host Steve Parry, the arranger for ITV show, The Voice. Our music students heard all about Steve's journey from studying at Leeds College of Music, all the way through his local gigging phase, to being able to work with some household names such as Gary Barlow from Take That and now working on The Voice.

He shares some wise words of advice for our students on how to build their network within the industry to gain and maintain a stream of gigs as well as work ethic and do’s and don’ts for the studio and live performance. All of this followed by a Q&A session, guided workshop on popular arrangement and performances by our immensely talented students.

'I really enjoyed listening to Steve Parry today. The session was incredibly informative and inspiring, giving me valuable insight into potential career paths and how to navigate them. I also loved the workshop—it was extremely useful in helping me learn new skills for arranging music more efficiently and effectively. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that has given me both knowledge and motivation for the future. Thank you for this great opportunity!' - Second-year, music student, Josh Borman.
