UDANCENW 2019
Dance students at LIPA Sixth Form College (LSFC) performed at The Lowry, Salford as they took part in this year’s UDance NW.
The second-year Dance students performed ‘Under My Skin’ at the event in March, which aims to promote dance for all children and young people. The dynamic contemporary piece was choreographed by Dance lecturer Jenny Rees. She says: “This was a great experience for our students, giving them the chance to perform on a professional stage in an amazing venue to a wider audience than they would normally.
“As well as the performance they took part in workshops with professional dance company Brink, learning new skills and experiencing working with digital media and dance. They were also exposed to classes in new styles, such as popping, which developed their versatility and broadening their minds to different genres of dance.”
UDance is a national programme run by Youth Dance England.
