Staff

 Our teaching staff are all industry experienced. They understand, and have links to, the sector you aspire to work in. They can help you reach the standards expected and introduce you to the behaviour and discipline required. 

Among our tutors: 

Our Acting department consists of performers, writers, theatre makers and directors who have worked in theatre, television, community drama and audio, in Liverpool and across the country. 

Our Dance team are all specialised teachers in the styles and all have professional experience ranging from performing in contemporary dance companies, to cabaret, cruise ships and the West End. Our staff are still active teaching, choreographing and performing in the dance industry. 

Our Design for Performance team consists of LIPA (HE) alumni who are experienced industry professionals. They have worked in a variety of professional settings, including theatre, live events, arts festivals in education, exhibitions and galleries such as Tate Liverpool. The team are all experienced teachers and continue to work freelance in the North West. 

Our Music team consists of performers, writers and sound technicians who work regularly across a wide range of musical genres, and includes a GRAMMY-nominated musician.

Our Musical Theatre team are all specialist teachers who have a wealth of professional experience in their taught discipline, with most staff having worked in the West End. The team all actively still work in industry roles such as director, choreographer and vocal coaches. 

Our Technical Theatre team consists of LIPA (HE) alumni who are experienced industry professionals. They have worked in a variety of professional settings, including, theatre, live events and cruise ships. The team are all experienced teachers and continue to work Freelance in the North West. 

Michael Pritchard

Learning Support Assistant

Michael graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA Hons in Music and Popular Music and has worked in education for over seven years (in primary schools and at Birkenhead Sixth Form College), both in teaching and learning support. Though trained and experienced in all performance disciplines, he specialises in singing and music composition. He is a self-taught pianist and has performed in productions whilst working at BSFC, and he trained to play the clarinet. He is also a composer and writer, and he is currently developing his own composition portfolio. As a neurodivergent person himself, Michael firmly believes in the importance of arts in education and inclusion. He previously performed in the Liverpool Empire Theatre and Floral Pavilion in New Brighton (with Birkenhead Operatic Society Trust) and was Secretary at the University of Liverpool’s dance society, BODYSOC. Michael is passionate about working in a creative environment, and he strives to realise the potential of all students at LIPA Sixth Form College.
