SEND Policy & Information Report
LIPA Sixth Form College is committed to fully supporting students with a wide range of learning support needs.
LIPA Sixth Form College is working towards reaccreditation for the SEND Inclusion Award (SENDIA) in 2026/27 after achieving this award previously in 2019 and 2023.
The SEND Inclusion Award offers mainstream education settings the opportunity to gain accreditation for high-quality provision and outcomes for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Schools are required to reflect on and improve their provision in line with a series of objectives that fulfil both Ofsted criteria and the SEND Code of Practice*. Specifically, the award focuses on ‘outcomes’ for pupils and how schools can demonstrate the impact of their SEND provision. The award leads schools through a process of self-evaluation, action planning and evidence collection before final verification and accreditation.
For more information, contact Amy Deane, Assistant Principal: Inclusion (SENDCO) on a.deane@lipasixthformcollege.org or Lyndsey Healey, Deputy DSL / Deputy SENDCO on l.healey@lipasixthformcollege.org or 0151 330 3232.
We welcome applications from everyone with a passion for the creative and performing arts. If you have particular educational needs and/or a disability, you may wish to have an informal confidential discussion with a qualified SENDCO before applying, please contact Amy or Lyndsey on the contact details above.
Once you have accepted a place with us, you can expect our SENDCO and inclusion team to make contact to offer support across a wide range of needs - personal, academic, social, emotional, health and/or welfare-related.
Our SEND report is available for download from this page - it sets out our local offer and approach to SEND, and explains how we work with students to ensure everyone with SEND is fully supported during their studies.
