The two-year Level 3 Extended Diplomas are highly-practical qualifications (each equivalent to three A-Levels, with up to 168 UCAS points available), specifically designed to meet the demands of the creative and performing arts industry, whether your interest is in performing, working creatively (such as in set design) or in technical production. You will have the chance to explore and develop your interests and abilities as you apply your creativity and ambition to a wide range of realistic, practical project-based learning opportunities.
Successful completion of the course equips you with the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to studying your chosen discipline within a Higher Education setting, or to go into employment.
All Level 3 Extended Diploma students are continually assessed throughout the courses, with regular feedback and homework given. Practical in focus, the courses also help you to improve your skills in critical analysis and self-directed study, developing your professional profile and path for progression upon leaving us.
As each Level 3 Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A-Levels, the depth, breadth and challenge of the curriculum is intense and it is for this reason that we have decided not to offer a choice of A-Levels alongside the Extended Diploma.
Your study programme will include Maths and English, either as formal GCSE retake classes or as an integral part of your Level 3 studies (see Maths and English for more information).
You will also undertake an Employment, Enrichment and Pastoral programme, which will support your studies by offering a range of opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities and develop your employability skills and social, moral and cultural wellbeing.
